This booklet has emphasised the knowledge and skills that empower Volunteer Ministers to be of truly valued service to their communities. They are able to make a difference — rapidly, effectively and permanently. And, for every contribution they make, they take with them a sense of personal accomplishment and pride.
While individuals form the backbone of community service, individuals with similar goals
working together can be far more effective. A well-organised endeavour of 10 volunteers can do the work of twice as many — or more — solo efforts. It is this factor of organisation that has enabled the Volunteer Ministers to be effective, and why the programme has been made available to all people of goodwill who want to improve
their communities.
